Secret Mission is Austria’s Crime Escape Theatre: missions with professional actors, at real places in the heart of Vienna.
That question is where Secret Mission began. We bring together what you will only find together here: a mission you play yourselves, puzzles like in an escape room and professional actors who react to you live. You don’t play in a locked room but out in the city, at places that are otherwise closed to the public. The result is more than a game: the feeling of being part of the story yourselves – and that is exactly what the brand stands for.
What happens in a mission was not dreamt up at a desk. Some of it once happened to a member of our team at work: in public service, in law enforcement, in the military, on stage. That is why our stories stay so close to reality.
The people behind Secret Mission
Professional actors, rehearsed on a script of more than a hundred pages, react live to your questions and decisions. Ask something that isn’t in the script and you will still get an answer – in character. And because your decisions change the plot, there is more than one ending.
Behind every mission lie months of development: props built for their story, interfaces programmed specifically for it, and puzzles that never stand alone but drive the plot forward. Radios, ID cards and a hacking app are provided.
Thrilling like a spy film, but without jump scares: Secret Mission is not horror. A game master stays in the background throughout the mission, and you can stop at any time. We play in the rain too – rain ponchos are provided on site.
Every mission is a production of its own, with its own story, its own places and its own characters. These are the ways in.
The main mission
A researcher is dead and the substance NOVEX-3 has vanished. As a team of agents you follow the trail through Vienna’s 1st district: through a historic church, the lanes of the old town and an underground wine cellar.

We play in the heart of Vienna’s city centre, in the 1st district: in lanes you may have walked through many times, and at places we rent exclusively for the duration of the mission. Saturdays and Sundays, in German or English.
Every mission is written, cast and produced by the same team.
