Vienna, city of spies: the perfect backdrop
After 1945 Vienna was divided into four occupation zones for ten years; afterwards the neutral city sat right between East and West during the Cold War. International organisations such as the United Nations are based here to this day – and Vienna is known as a city of spies.
In 1949 the film “The Third Man” made shadowy post-war Vienna world-famous, complete with the Giant Ferris Wheel and the sewers.
Secret Mission is not a spy tour to historic sites. You don’t just hear spy stories – you live one, as agents in today’s Vienna.
Like a spy film: a Bond feeling to play along
Anyone who roots for James Bond knows the ingredients: a secret assignment, tech in action, adversaries with plans of their own and a finale underground. With us, you’re not on the sofa – you’re in the thick of it.
By the way, 007 has been to Vienna too: in “The Living Daylights” (1987) he takes a spin on the Giant Ferris Wheel. Your mission is less about tuxedos and martinis – and more about real decisions that change how it ends.

Questions about the spy experience
What is a spy experience in Vienna?
A mission in which you become secret agents yourselves: you get ID cards, radios and a hacking app, meet contacts and adversaries – played by professional actors – and follow a trail through Vienna’s city centre. At Secret Mission this mission is called NOVEX-3.
How do you become a spy for a day?
By booking with us: you book the mission, come to St. Peter’s Church in the 1st district and are recruited there for your operation. No prior knowledge needed.
Do I have to act?
No. You stay yourselves and decide as an agent team. The roles of contacts and adversaries are played by our actors.
Is it a good gift for James Bond fans?
Yes – a secret assignment, agent tech, adversaries and a finale underground. As a voucher it arrives instantly as a PDF by email and is valid for three years.
Can we do the spy experience as a couple?
Yes. A team has 1 to 6 people, so you can play as a pair or even alone. The price per person drops with team size.
What is the minimum age?
Ages 14 and over. Between 14 and 16 only with an adult in the team.
Where does the operation start?
At St. Peter’s Church in the 1st district, a few minutes’ walk from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The exact details are in your booking confirmation.
How long does the mission take?
60 to 90 minutes of play, around two hours including the briefing. You walk about two to three kilometres.
Is the spy experience available in English?
Yes. You choose English or German when booking.
Is it dangerous or scary?
No. Exciting like a spy film, but without horror. Comfortable shoes are all you need.
What is the difference to the murder mystery?
It’s the same mission, NOVEX-3, seen from another angle: crime fans investigate a death – fans of spy films experience the operation. Both are in it.
We are more than six – does that work?
Yes. You play in several teams in parallel or staggered on one day. Tell us the total number and we’ll plan the schedule.
